Joint Inspection and Approval of Foundation level of Block of Classrooms in Awerial Complex Primary School

The Construction of one block of 4 classrooms and 5 stance of gender segregated and inclusive latrines for girls in Awerial Complex Primary School is ongoing and the current level of construction has been inspected and approved by the Ministry of General Education and Instruction (MOGEI) team, Engineer Odik and DG George Ali, on September 22nd, 2023. This was through a joint inspection/monitoring on the construction work. The joint monitoring team was made up of MOGEI team and HESS Executive Director, Ms. Achol Aguek who arrived on the ground before the MOGEI team.

HelpEducaions South Sudan is implementing GPE project in Awerial County, with Funding from GPE through Save the Children. This is a two year project with phase one in 2023, construction of one block of 4 classrooms, school fence and one block of latrines for girls which has commenced and will end this year, whereas phase 2 with block two of 4 classrooms and latrines for boys will start and end next year, 2024.

For quality and accountability purpose, the construction is being monitored by MOGEI and Save the Children, as well as the implementing partners, with different levels of construction being inspected and approved by MOGEI for a partner to proceed with the construction.

HESS is currently at the foundation level which is a critical stage of building construction. For us to qualify to proceed to next level of construction, MOGEI team, Engineer Odik and DG George Ali arrived in Awerial County on Friday 22nd September, 2033, to inspect the current level of construction.

It’s great news that after the inspection, MOGEI team gave positive remakes and approved this stage of construction for the next level of construction. The few comments MOGEI team Outlined are to be addressed as we continue with the construction. HESS is now set to proceed to the next level of construction.
