Yesterday, HelpEducation South Sudan (HESS) proudly celebrated ten years of transforming lives through inclusive education, literacy, and community empowerment.

The anniversary celebration, held at Imperial Plaza in Juba, was a remarkable occasion filled with joy, reflection, inspiring stories, and gratitude. It brought together students, teachers, partners, supporters, and other stakeholders to recognise a decade of progress and reaffirm a shared vision for a brighter future.

A Decade of Impact

Since its establishment in 2015, HESS has grown from humble beginnings into an organisation that has reached more than 89,980 beneficiaries and supported over 50 schools across South Sudan.

This milestone belongs to every student, teacher, parent, community member, partner, and supporter who has contributed to our journey.

Over the past decade, HESS has:

  • Expanded access to inclusive, equitable, and quality education.
  • Empowered boys, girls, young mothers, women, children with disabilities, teachers, and Parent-Teacher Associations.
  • Strengthened schools through essential learning resources, improved infrastructure, and effective leadership.
  • Supported communities to become stronger, more inclusive, and more resilient.

Renewing Our Commitment

As we reflect on this incredible journey, we remain more committed than ever to ensuring that every child has an opportunity to learn, grow, and fulfil their potential.

We will continue working with communities and partners to empower boys, girls, young mothers, women, and children with disabilities through education. The achievements of the past ten years inspire us to expand our impact and reach even more vulnerable learners and communities across South Sudan.

Thank You for Being Part of Our Journey

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who joined us in celebrating this important milestone and to all those who continue to support our mission.

We also recognise the valuable contributions of our partners, including Save the Children South Sudan, Finn Church Aid South Sudan, UNICEF South Sudan, UNESCO South Sudan, Mastercard Foundation, the Ministry of General Education and Instruction, the Global Partnership for Education, and Education Cannot Wait.

Together, we have transformed thousands of lives. Together, we look forward to the next chapter of impact and many more years of advancing inclusive and quality education in South Sudan.
